The 14th edition ran Thursday 25 June to Sunday 28 June 2026 at the Double JJ Resort. The initial lineup announcement named ILLENIUM, Excision, Kaskade, GRiZ, Chris Lake and The String Cheese Incident among its headliners. The main music areas were Ranch Arena, Sherwood Court, Tripolee and Center Stage, alongside a Silent Disco and The Grand Artique. The official site closed the season with a “Thank You Forest Family” message.
What Is the Safety and Permit Situation After 2026?
On 28 June 2026, the body of a newborn was found in a portable toilet in the Good Life camping area. Michigan State Police reported that an autopsy found the infant was born alive and viable, and the FBI offered a reward for information. Police asked anyone who was in the Good Life camping area that morning or who saw something relevant to call 1-855-MICH-TIP (1-855-642-4847). The festival’s organizers shared a statement on their Facebook page expressing sorrow and pointing to the police investigation.
Local residents later raised concerns about security at the event, and a petition with about 1,500 signatures asked for conditions on the festival’s permit, including changes to the security setup. The Rothbury village president said the council would not act before the facts were known. Local reports have noted that the festival has an agreement with the village that runs through 2035, and the event is a major source of income for the small community. What Is Electric Forest?
Electric Forest began in the early 2010s and has grown into one of the best-known multi-genre festivals in North America. Its community is called the Forest Family, and camping is a core part of the experience, with workshops and gatherings at The Brainery and dance parties between neighbors. Unlike many festivals, it puts art and place at the center: Sherwood Forest is described by the organizers as a world within the festival, with hammocks and hidden gathering spots by day, and lit displays, secret parties and characters at night.

The 2026 winners announced by the festival were The Humoral Cure Machine by the Humorous collective, an interactive installation based on the ancient Greek theory of the four humors that gives visitors a personalized audiovisual “cure”, and The Observer by Dani Hughes, an antique door with stained glass eyes in its fifteen window panes. Other installations covered by art press included Fractal Flower of Life, a pixel LED work woven through the trees.
Who Paints Live at Electric Forest?

What Activities Are There Besides Music?
The official program includes The Brainery on Main Street for crafting, dancing and learning, EF Radio Studios, Prize Cart Remixes after headlining sets, and Plug In Programs that reward attendees who give back. In 2026 there was also an Electric Forest 5K on Saturday morning. The festival is all ages, and the organizers offer accessible camping and an Access Center in Camp Access.
How Do Tickets and Camping Work?
Tickets are sold through the official website and AXS in presale phases, with payment plans available for packages. No 2027 passes are on sale yet, and 2026 passes and prices should not be used as a guide. The Good Life is the festival’s VIP program, with camping close to Sherwood Forest, showers, air-conditioned restrooms and shuttle service. Several Good Life passes sold out for 2026. Group camping, shuttles, and select packages include a complimentary Wednesday early arrival.
