The Australian party scene has taken its share of blows in recent years. Clubs have closed, festivals have folded, and the once-thriving psychedelic underground has felt quieter than ever. But just when things seemed at their bleakest, a spark has reignited: the return of Colour of Sound. Born in 2010, COS quickly rose to become one of Australia’s most infamous psychedelic brands. From sweaty warehouse raves to festival main stages, the crew brought some of the world’s biggest psytrance names – Infected Mushroom, Ace Ventura, Ritmo, Liquid Soul, Vini Vici, Captain Hook, Animato, Zyce, Berg, Waio, Altruism, Headroom, Mad Maxx, Symbolic, Hypogeo, and more – to Australian shores. Then, after a long hiatus, COS went into deep space hibernation. Now, the time is right for a long-awaited homecoming.
The Event
On Saturday, 23 August at The Industrique, COS returns with a 10-hour psychedelic warehouse marathon that promises to be nothing short of historic. This isn’t just another party, it’s a reunion, a celebration of roots, and a chance to glimpse the future of psytrance in Australia.

U-Recken’s Return
It’s almost poetic. Nearly 15 years ago, COS’s very first international guest was none other than U-Recken – the legendary voyager of Dacru Records. The bond grew from there, with COS collaborating on his Tree of Life Festival (Turkey) and journeys across the globe. For the comeback, it only felt right to bring him back for a massive 4-hour extended set – an odyssey into his intelligent, soulful, and emotionally charged soundscapes. With classic albums like Aquatic Serenade (2006) and Nothing is Sacred (2017), U-Recken’s music has soundtracked countless sunrise dancefloors worldwide. And now, in 2026, he’ll mark 20 years of the project – with Melbourne at the front of the anniversary tour.
