Now that Psy Fi has officially hammered the last nail in their coffin (and honestly, people are furious and it ain’t pretty), just when we thought the NL psytrance scene was done for, we got in touch with Richard LeJeune and his groundbreaking work with Fractalized and their flagship event, Psychedelic Rave. This Dutch visual artist and event promoter has been quietly building an empire that is sure to fill the massive void in the Netherlands’ event landscape. Richard LeJeune: The Visionary Behind the Movement
Richard LeJeune, a veteran visual artist, has been collaborating with his team of fractal warriors on Fractalized for the past decade. The team hosts approximately 10 events annually, with Psychedelic Rave serving as their flagship event. As both a visual artist and event promoter, LeJeune combines technical expertise with in-depth scene knowledge to create experiences that major festivals, such as the beloved Freqs of Nature (Remember that one?), and many good others, have relied on.
Richard confirms what we recently discussed, not long ago, about the increasing costs and their negative effect. As he describes it, “yeah, it’s kind of a fight to keep on going on this scale, as costs go up like crazy every year, the crowd does not want to spend more, but we do this with the love for the music and culture in mind.”
