Hadra Trance Festival, France: 2026 Recap and What’s Next
Hadra Festival

Hadra Trance Festival is France’s flagship psytrance festival, held every August at Plan d’Eau de Vieure in the Allier region. The 17th edition ran from 27 to 30 August 2026 under the theme “Solar Punk Chronicles, Chapter I: The Seed”. Dates for the next edition have not been announced yet.

This guide recaps the 2026 edition, explains how the festival is run, and covers travel, camping and ticket details based on the official Hadra site and social channels. Last updated: 19 September 2026.

What is Hadra Trance Festival?

Hadra Trance Festival was launched in 2005 in Chorges in the Hautes-Alpes, later moved to Pontcharra and the Vercors mountains, and has been based at Plan d’Eau de Vieure since 2016. It is run by the non-profit Hadra association, which reinvests all revenue in its projects and describes the festival as roughly 97% self-financed. The organisers say it is supported by nearly 150 volunteers and 4.5 full-time equivalent staff, and that it welcomes around 10,000 people each year.

Hadra is one of the few French festivals to build its lineup around the different styles of psytrance and the alternative aesthetics that grew up around it, with a strong focus on decoration, scenography and community values.

When and where was Hadra Trance Festival 2026?

The 2026 edition took place from Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 August 2026 at Plan d’Eau de Vieure, Vieure (03430), Allier, in central France. Artists posted their own recaps from the weekend afterwards, including sets on the Paradoxe stage on the opening day and the main stage closing, which confirms the festival went ahead as planned. Set times were adjusted at the start of the festival, according to the organisers’ announcement.

What was the 2026 theme?

2026 launched the “Solar Punk Chronicles” trilogy, a three-year cycle that follows several years under the cyberpunk theme. Chapter I, “The Seed” (La graine), imagines an optimistic solarpunk future built on the symbiosis of nature, people and responsible progress. Antoine Doré again designed the poster. The organisers describe this as the start of a new era for the festival, so Chapters II and III are expected in the following years, although no dates have been published.

Which stages does Hadra have?

The 2026 programme ran across four music stages plus a village of artisans and workshops:

  • La Main: the main stage, dedicated to the full psytrance spectrum from progressive to dark-prog, full-on and forest.
  • Paradoxe: the alternative stage with techno, drum and bass, hi-tech, dub and world music, including bands mixing traditional instruments with electronics.
  • Le Cocon: the live and experimental stage, added in 2023, for electro-acoustic performances.
  • La Bulle: a healing zone by day and chill-out stage by night, with downtempo, ambient, psybass and psychill.

Le Village and the Allée des utopies host artisans, circus arts, conferences and workshops focused on ecology, digital culture and social justice.

Who played at Hadra Trance Festival 2026?

The official programming page listed 131 entries across the four stages. Names on La Main included Ajja, Earthling, Dr Fractal, Ebony Willis, Back to Mars, Audiofools, Delirium Tremens, DJ Dhira and Ekanta. Paradoxe featured acts such as DNA (drum and bass) and 5F.U (fast techno), and La Bulle hosted ambient and downtempo sets from artists like Callyope and Deepnoz. The full timetable is on the official programming page.

How much were tickets for Hadra 2026?

Hadra uses a single-price policy with no sales phases. The 4-day pass cost €190, camping included, and a 3-day pass for 28 to 30 August cost €170. Bus plus 4-day pass packages started from €43 on top of the transport, and 4 to 6 person tipis were bookable through the festival’s partner. The organisers also publish a breakdown of what the price covers, from site and safety costs to artistic budget and their eco-social commitments, which is unusually transparent for a festival of this size.

How do you get to Hadra Trance Festival?

The organisers push low-impact travel because attendee transport is the festival’s largest environmental footprint. Options in 2026 included bus packages from cities such as Paris, Lyon, Grenoble, Toulouse, Marseille, Bruxelles and Lille, trains through the festival’s transport partner, a cycling community with a ride-share group, a carpooling platform, and shuttles from Moulins station (about 40 km) and Montluçon station (about 35.5 km) running Thursday to Sunday and Monday morning. See the official travel page for the details of the current edition.

Attending Hadra Festival

Where do you sleep at Hadra?

Camping and parking are included in every pass, with toilets and showers on the campsite. Vans and converted vehicles have a dedicated parking area a few hundred metres from the entrance, and tents are not allowed among the vehicles. Pets are not allowed on the site, campsites or parking, and have not been since 2005. The festival also runs Inaya, a selective mixed-gender campsite for women and gender minorities, with registration through a form, alongside trained Inaya volunteers and a refuge in the village as part of its policy against sexist and sexual violence. Details are on the official sleeping page.

When is the next Hadra Trance Festival?

The organisers have not announced a date or theme for the next edition. Hadra traditionally takes place in late August, and the “Solar Punk Chronicles” trilogy suggests a continuation, but third-party sites that list exact 2027 dates are guessing. Wait for the announcement on the official site, which is updated in spring for the summer edition.
