What’s your project’s name?

Our project’s name is the “Altervision 3D Blacklight Experience”. It is an excellent, hand-painted 3D art installation using blacklight technology. We bring this unique and captivating experience to various events, making them unforgettable.

We’re based in Southern California, known for its exciting entertainment scene and diverse culture. Our Altervision 3D Blacklight Experience has amazed crowds at big festivals. What scene are you part of?

We’re deeply involved in the lively art and music festival scene, regularly showing our work at large-scale events. These festivals are great for us to display our 3D blacklight art to many people. The vibe and creativity at these events match our style perfectly, letting us connect with festival fans who want to see something extraordinary. Being at these festivals has helped us become known for giving people incredible experiences they’ll remember.

What’s your vision for your art?

We want to give guests a fantastic 3D art experience that makes events unique. Our goal is to wow audiences with beautiful and exciting hand-painted scenes. We create installations that are like stepping into another world, full of bright colors and cool effects. We want people to remember our art long after the event, leaving them curious and amazed. With our creative 3D blacklight art, we aim to inspire, entertain, and bring happiness to everyone who sees it.

How did you start as a visual artist?

Our journey began in 2006 when DAK and some friends wanted to bring something unique to the Burning Man festival. Getting our setup to the desert was tough but worth it. The Altervision 3D Blacklight Lounge was a huge hit, and people loved it. This success made us want to share our idea with more people.

At first, we only did events now and then. But in 2012, we realized how much people loved what we were doing. So, we decided to go bigger. DAK and some of the original group started Altervision 3D, LLC. We worked with professional painters and other artists to improve our art. Now, our fascinating art wows people at every event.

Which kinds of projects have you worked on?

We’ve been lucky to work on many projects, from big music festivals to small parties. Our art has been at famous events like the Electric Daisy Carnival, where people loved our 3D blacklight art. We’ve also done smaller events, like parties for essential companies and charity fundraisers. Our Altervision 3D Blacklight Experience has made a big impression every time, turning regular events into unforgettable memories for everyone there.

We can adapt to any project’s needs. Whether it’s a big festival or a small corporate event, we can customize our installations to match the vibe. Being mobile, we’ve traveled all over California and Nevada, appearing at many festivals. Please show us your work and a project you’re proud of

One of our favorite projects was our first installation at Burning Man. Getting everything to the desert in Nevada was a big challenge. We had to travel 700 miles through rough terrain and tricky weather. Plus, the desert’s harsh conditions made it challenging to set up safely. But we didn’t let that stop us. Our team worked together with determination and skill. We planned carefully and found intelligent ways to handle each problem.

We ensured everything got to the festival site safely and made our installations strong enough to handle the desert winds and sand. Despite the harsh conditions, our hard work paid off. People at the festival loved what we did, and we got great feedback. Our success at Burning Man showed that we can overcome obstacles and create fantastic art, even in difficult places.

How do you start a new project? What steps do you take?

Starting a new project involves careful planning and teamwork. First, we study the venue to see how our installation will fit. We then work closely with clients to choose artwork and make any changes to match the event’s theme. Once everything’s decided, we plan carefully and set everything up a few days before the event.  Our staff ensures everything runs smoothly on the day and solves any problems. Our organized approach and teamwork always make our projects stand out.

What design tools do you use? How do you stay updated with new trends and tools?

We use special tools like blacklight paints and advanced lighting to make our 3D art installations stand out in our design process. These tools help us create unique visual experiences that amaze and inspire people. We also keep up with new trends by working with artists from different backgrounds.  This allows us to stay creative and try new things, so our work is always fresh and exciting. Being proactive lets us keep improving and use the latest tools to improve our installations.

What’s your art style and favourite materials?

Our exceptional art style focuses on 3D blacklight art. It looks impressive under UV lights, making colors pop and designs stand out. We choose materials that work well with UV lights, like special paints. We also use custom lighting to make our art look even more impressive, giving it depth and mesmerizing for everyone who sees it.

What themes are in your work, and what messages do you want to share?

Our art focuses on themes like joining in, inspiring others, and getting people involved. We want our installations to make everyone feel included and active in the experience. We aim to spark curiosity, creativity, and happiness in everyone who sees our art. How do you work with people who don’t know design?

When clients need to learn more about design, we often talk with them to understand what they want. We listen to their ideas and help them through the design process smoothly. It’s a fun and collaborative journey that ends with a fantastic event they’ll never forget.

Have you ever had to change your ideas for a client? How did you deal with it?

Sometimes, we must change our ideas to fit the client’s wants. We do this by talking openly with them and being flexible to their changing needs. Our main goal is to ensure the client is happy and involved in creating their Altervision 3D Blacklight Experience. This way, we can provide an impressive final event that they want.

Do you do video editing or animation?

Our primary focus is making immersive 3D blacklight art installations, so we specialize in something other than video editing or animation. However, we work with many talented artists who can do those things. We team up with them when we need video or animation for a project. This way, we can use their skills to make our installations even more exciting for our clients and guests.

What makes modern visual art different from traditional art?
